The Chicago and Austin Sun Tech Days are done.  I got home last night and leave now on the 3:30 am bus to San Jose for the Java Bus Tour; I'll be living on the bus for a week, sleeping in Sun's parking lot, working on a book I'm working on....and preparing for JavaOne.  It's been busy and promises to be busier yet, but we're accomplishing a lot in the process.

A new web site was born a few days ago - one I've been working on for a few months now.  See the Technology Evangelism site at Sun now, something I'm proud to have been part of creating.  Hopefully we'll expand the site as time goes on and add value in the process.  I've got some ideas for the site that I think will go a long way toward helping us do a better job with even less resources - practicing what we preach, as it were.

I wrote the essay on Goff's Law a few days ago - inspired by an email attachment I've received a couple of times now - the first time, from my dear wife and the next from my best friend in NYC, both of whom know and appreciate my penchant for all things Stooge.

As luck would have it, I incorporated these themes into my Jini presentation in both U.S. towns, Austin being the first on the tour.  I must admit now that doing so without truly considering both the implications of my own words and the likely mix of the audience in question was perhaps ill advised: I received my first piece of hate mail afterward as an evangelist.  I was quite disturbed by the matter, in truth.  So I've made a vow to be more explicit with the license I do tend to take when I speak, and even give audiences a vote before diving into my otherwise devious discourse.  In Chicago I offered my apologies in advance and begged forgiveness.  By posting the image from http://ilovebacon.com,iIt is not my intent to impune the reputation or talent of someone I consider to be a truly great American, Mr. Moe Howard.  I pray I am forgiven.
